ATLANTA — Today, Democratic gubernatorial nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms released a new ad holding Slick Rick Jackson accountable for making a fortune off taxpayer-funded health care contracts and profiting off Georgians’ pain while outlining how she is fighting for Georgia. As governor, Keisha will take on the rigged system that made Jackson rich to expand Medicaid, waive local grocery taxes, and stop data centers from raising Georgians’ electricity bills. 

While Jackson breaks records by spending millions of dollars on lying ads, Keisha highlights how voters have the power to elect the governor who works for Georgia. 

Slick Rick Jackson has made a fortune off nearly $1 billion in taxpayer-funded no-bid contracts — while he opposes expanding Medicaid. And Jackson has been recently exposed for multiple insider deals, including giving a predatory loan to an Alabama hospital that was at risk of closing because the state hasn’t expanded Medicaid. Last week, a report from Courier Georgia revealed that Jackson has been trying to force a data center development onto a local community while hiding behind non-disclosure agreements to avoid answering questions.

Since launching her campaign, Keisha has laid out her plans to expand Medicaid and protect Georgia’s hospitals. Keisha also recently announced her plan to bring down grocery costs by giving local leaders the option to eliminate or suspend local taxes on groceries and family essentials. And as governor, she will pause on the new construction of data centers to prevent rising utility bills for Georgians.
