ATLANTA — Democratic candidate for Governor Keisha Lance Bottoms released the following statement in response to Rick Jackson announcing his campaign for governor.

“Donald Trump continues to wreak havoc on Georgia, making it more expensive to buy food and afford health care all while tearing communities apart, but the Republicans running for governor continue to cheer him on and show they’ll do nothing to stand up for Georgians. Rick Jackson, a Republican insider who has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to GOP politicians, is the latest candidate who made clear he’ll put loyalty to Donald Trump ahead of what’s best for Georgians. While Republicans compete to become the best bootlicker for Donald Trump, I’ll remain focused on lowering costs and fighting for Georgians.
