Bottoms: ‘Since Taking Office, Donald Trump has been Causing Chaos for Families in Georgia

Atlanta — Today, Democratic candidate for governor Keisha Lance Bottoms released the following statement on the one-year anniversary of Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“One year ago, Donald Trump took office promising to ‘rapidly bring down costs and prices.’ Trump has spent the last year doing the opposite: raising costs for Americans and focusing on his own political agenda.

“Since taking office, Donald Trump has been causing chaos for families in Georgia, and Georgia’s Republican leaders have been sitting back and cheering him on.  Trump’s reckless tariff policies have caused uncertainty for Georgia’s trade economy and small businesses. Trump’s Big Ugly Bill raised healthcare costs for families and put our rural hospitals at risk. Instead of lowering prices, Trump is attempting to erase the rights that Georgians have fought so hard for.

“Georgians deserve a champion in their corner who will focus on lowering prices and defending our state. As governor, I’ll fight for Georgia's values, work to create opportunities in every part of the state, and stand up to Donald Trump when his policies hurt Georgia.”
