Keisha Lance Bottoms for Georgia Governor

New AJC Poll Shows ‘Statistical Dead Heat’ With Keisha Winning Independents

ATLANTA - A new poll from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution finds that despite Rick Jackson’s massive outspending on false attacks, Keisha Lance Bottoms has “energized” voters and grown an advantage with independents. The AJC poll shows that the race is “a statistical dead heat” with Bottoms leading among Independents by a 43-38 margin and with 8 percent of voters undecided.

Since launching her campaign, Keisha has laid out clear plans to address challenges Georgians are facing. Keisha has plans to lower costs, expand Medicaid, strengthen rural hospitals, provide Georgia homeowners relief, and give communities the option to eliminate grocery taxes. And as governor, she will pause on the new construction of data centers to prevent rising utility bills for Georgians.

Even though Jackson has poured more than $187 million into his political campaign, he’s struggling as the candidate running to be “Trump’s favorite governor” and failing to convince voters he will stand up for Georgia.

“This is a tied race with two weeks to go. Keisha Lance Bottoms has the momentum in this race and she is in a position to win it with an aggressive grassroots effort over the next 14 days,” said Tharon Johnson, Keisha for Governor campaign manager. “Keisha is already winning with independents, Democrats are more excited to vote than Republicans, and women are dominating early voting. Slick Rick could spend a billion dollars but it doesn't matter, Georgia voters know we literally can't afford more of the same. Keisha Lance Bottoms is running to bring change and put more money in your pocket while Slick Rick is just running to pad his own."

Beyond Jackson’s blind loyalty to a deeply unpopular president, a series of investigative reports have detailed personal liabilities, including: making nearly $1 billion off no-bid, taxpayer-funded contracts for health care services while opposing Medicaid expansion; getting caught secretly extending a lucrative state contract after vowing he would end his business with the state if elected; agreeing that women should have to prove they were raped before getting abortion care they may need and vowing to “absolutely confirm” a total abortion ban; and imposing a data center against the will of local residents — even having local officials sign a confidentiality agreement to hide information from the community.
