Bottoms Qualifies for May 19 Gubernatorial Primary

ATLANTA — Keisha Lance Bottoms today became the first Democratic candidate for governor to qualify for the May 19 primary. Bottoms released the following statement after filing the paperwork to appear on the ballot:

“In packed rooms from Savannah to Dahlonega, I am hearing from Georgians about the challenges and opportunities they’re facing. Young people are concerned about rising rent and utility bills, families are worried about skyrocketing health care premiums, and small business owners are hurting because of the disastrous policies coming from Washington. Our campaign is about Georgia’s future, and I look forward to continuing to meet Georgians across the state, earning their support, and winning in November. 

“Today’s qualifying for the ballot is another important step towards winning the governorship back for Democrats for the first time this century.”
