“Like Trump with a Southern Tone:” Slick Rick Jackson Says Military Should Monitor Polling Places

Keisha: ‘Rick Jackson is Once Again Telling Georgians How He Will Be Trump’s Favorite Governor — This Time by Spreading Election Lies and Threatening Our Elections’

ATLANTA — Today, a new report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution exposed recent comments from Rick Jackson calling for the National Guard to monitor Georgia’s November elections. 

At a recent campaign event, Jackson spoke to a voter about the upcoming election. In response to the question, “Can you call up and get some federal troops from Trump?” Jackson replied “Well, we’ll get the National Guard.” 

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms released the following statement:

“Rick Jackson is once again telling Georgians how he will be Trump’s favorite governor — this time by spreading election lies and threatening our elections.  Jackson has stood with Donald Trump as the President orchestrated a raid of Fulton County’s election hub and went after Georgia’s election workers.

“As governor, I will defend free and fair elections in Georgia and stand in between any attempt to make it harder for Georgians to exercise their fundamental right to vote. Unlike Slick Rick, I will stand up to anyone — including the president — who tries to intimidate Georgia voters.”
