Bottoms joined hundreds of Georgians while campaigning across the state last week
ATLANTA — Last week, Democratic candidate for governor Keisha Lance Bottoms joined hundreds of Georgians in Forsyth and Barnesville to discuss her vision for Georgia and highlight the stakes of this year’s election.
Bottoms campaigned in Forsyth to discuss her plans as governor to lower costs, expand access to affordable health care and stand up to Donald Trump’s chaos coming out of Washington. She also joined Georgians in Barnesville for the Pike County NAACP’s Freedom Fund Banquet, where she highlighted the stakes of the 2026 election and the need for Georgia’s leaders to stand up against threats to Georgians voting rights.
FORSYTH
On Tuesday, Bottoms joined the Forsyth Democrats for their monthly meeting, where she discussed the challenges facing the area, including expanding opportunities for Georgians to continue their education. [Video here]
“This is why the free Technical and Community College piece is so important. My mother went back to school and opened a hair salon. She went back to cosmetology school when my father was incarcerated, and she suddenly became a single mother. It's important because it's not just great for young people leaving out of high school, but for people who maybe need to course correct or change,” said Bottoms. “Education — I think — unlocks so many opportunities for so many.”
BARNESVILLE
On Saturday, Bottoms joined a packed room of excited Georgians in Barnesville to discuss the threats to voting rights coming from Donald Trump and the importance of Georgia having leaders who will stand up for Georgia and work to address the issues that families are facing.
“I know what we need in this moment. We need great people. We need people whose faith tells them that our better days lie ahead,” said Bottoms. “We need people — like me — who are going to fight to expand Medicaid in this state. We're going to make sure we have great-paying jobs in this state. We're going to make sure you can live in your communities with dignity. To make sure that our children have a pathway to a brighter future. We need people up and down the ballot, from senator to governor on down to your school board representatives and beyond.”
