Keisha Lance Bottoms Earns Endorsements From Coalition of More Than 30 Law Enforcement Officials
ATLANTA — Today, a coalition of sheriffs, district attorneys, solicitor generals and other law enforcement officials from across Georgia endorsed Democratic gubernatorial nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms in her campaign to serve as the next governor of Georgia.
This endorsement includes 32 law enforcement officials from across the state. Together, they represent more than a dozen local law enforcement agencies across Georgia.
As Mayor of Atlanta, Keisha supported law enforcement officials in keeping communities safe, she secured historic pay raises for Atlanta police officers without raising taxes, increased funding for public safety every year, and secured funding for a public safety training center for police and firefighters.
“I am proud to support Keisha Lance Bottoms as she has proven to show up for law enforcement officials. As Mayor, Keisha’s historic pay raises, increased funding for police and police training, and leadership on building a Buckhead precinct showed how she understood why investing in local law enforcement was critical for keeping communities safe,” said Rodney Bryant, Former Chief of Police Atlanta Police Department. “Keisha was a leading voice to ensure Atlanta officers had the resources they needed and I'm honored to join the coalition supporting her.”
“Keisha Lance Bottoms understands that when we invest in the people who keep our communities safe, we strengthen those communities as a whole. Keisha has demonstrated that supporting law enforcement means more than just words – it means delivering results,” said Sherry Boston, DeKalb District Attorney. “I am proud to support Keisha as I know her leadership is the right choice to lead Georgia. She has the experience, commitment, and vision to build safer and stronger communities across our state.”
“I am honored to have the support of these hardworking sheriffs, district attorneys, and law enforcement officials who work every day to keep our communities safe and hold criminals accountable. As governor, I will be a strong partner to law enforcement — helping ensure agencies have the resources they need to recruit and retain officers, address evidence-testing backlogs, and keep our communities safe,” said Keisha Lance Bottoms. “I look forward to working alongside Georgia’s law enforcement officers, who have dedicated their careers to protecting and serving the people of our state.”
