Keisha Lance Bottoms Is Laser-Focused on Plans to Lower Costs for Georgians

Keisha: ‘Wherever I Have Gone in the State Of Georgia, the Affordability Issue is the Number One Issue’

ATLANTA — Since launching her campaign, Keisha Lance Bottoms has been traveling across the state speaking directly to Georgians about her plans to bring down costs for Georgians. She has detailed her vision to lower health care costs, make housing more affordable for Georgia families, and guarantee pre-k for every four year old, so Georgians’ budgets don’t determine if their child gets a great head start.

“There’s a clear difference in this race: Keisha Lance Bottoms will take action to lower costs for Georgians, while Rick Jackson would continue rigging the system to benefit himself while standing 100% behind Donald Trump’s cost-raising policies,” said TaNisha Cameron, Communications Director for the Bottoms campaign. “Keisha has been focused on lowering costs from day one, and it’s what she’ll do as governor. Keisha will expand expand Medicaid to lower health care costs and protect Georgia’s hospitals

Keisha has rolled out her CARE Plan for a Healthier Georgia which will expand Medicaid, protect rural hospitals, and prevent Georgians who rely on the ACA from losing health care coverage.

Keisha will expand access to housing that more Georgians can afford

Since launching her campaign, Keisha has shared her plans to expand access to housing that Georgians can afford. As governor, she will crack down on corporate landlords who are making it harder for Georgians to buy or rent a home they can afford.

“Wherever I have gone in the state of Georgia, the affordability issue is the number one issue. Affordable housing — the lack thereof — is an issue in our rural communities, in our urban cities… It's not just about creating and preserving the housing, it's about making sure that people are able to live in this housing with dignity. As Governor, Keisha will guarantee universal pre-K, and work on a pathway to free technical college to ensure more Georgians are prepared for in-demand jobs

Keisha’s Head Start for Georgia’s Children plan will modernize the state’s outdated education funding formula to fully fund education statewide, so it reflects the needs of students today, focusing on financial literacy, early learning, and expanding pathways to in-demand jobs.
