ATLANTA — Democratic candidate for Governor Keisha Lance Bottoms released the following statement as Donald Trump is expected to visit Rome as Georgians across the state are hurting from his reckless policies that are increasing costs and cause uncertainty for Georgia’s major industries.

“When President Trump visits Northwest Georgia on Thursday, he'll be in a state where rising costs are not a 'hoax,' health care premiums are skyrocketing for more than 1.4 million people, and tariffs are damaging the trade economy. That's all because of Trump's policies — but don't expect any of the Republican politicians running for governor to hold him accountable for that. Donald Trump's actions rolling back clean air and water standards are putting Northwest Georgia families at risk. Georgians have had enough and that’s exactly what I hear as I meet people from North Georgia to the Coast. As governor, I will always put Georgians first, and I will never be afraid to stand up to Trump’s damaging policies from Washington.”
