Bottoms Calls for Pause on Tax on Diesel Fuel to Provide Relief for Georgia Businesses and Families

ATLANTA — As diesel prices in Georgia have hit an all time high in Georgia — breaking records daily — Democratic gubernatorial nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms today called for a pause on the tax for diesel fuel to provide relief for Georgia businesses.

This comes as fuel costs have soared in Georgia following Donald Trump's military strikes in Iran with “no endgame in sight” for rising diesel prices for Georgia businesses. The average price of diesel is more than $6 per gallon in Georgia — nearly $3 dollars more than last year.

“Georgia leaders should act now and suspend the tax on diesel fuel. Prices are at a record high because of Donald Trump’s war in the Middle East and the people of Georgia are paying the costs,” said Keisha.
